I was treated by a good friend to dinner last night at Pasta Too in Pittsburgh. The above is our dining room if there was no one in it. When we were there, it was packed - there seemed to be a lot of birthdays for some reason - and had a 35 minute wait on a table. However, it was worth putting the name on the list.
Normally, I would simply go for spaghetti. I'm a simple guy with simple tastes and you can't go wrong with great pasta. However, the menu was tempting by hosting a full variety of dishes. I opted for the Norwegian Baked Scrod while my friend ordered Chicken Parmesan.
Both orders came with a salad and a side of the pasta of your choosing. So, I got the spaghetti after all. Best of both worlds. We'd heard that Pasta Too servings were huge and this proved to be the case. My friend received two huge pieces of Chicken with their order and I got enough fish that there was some of it and the pasta left over for lunch today. Turns out that Pasta Too is as tasty on day two. We rounded out the dinner with a bottle of white. A nice way to end a wonderful meal.
For what you received, the pricing here was reasonable. Most dishes were in the fifteen dollar range. The service was good and prompt. The establishment is kid friendly. And while it did seem a bit noisy (simply because it was packed), truth is the tables, booths, are arranged so that you aren't right on top of one another and you feel like you have privacy.
I would give this place 5/5 on the rating scale. Want to celebrate an event or simply treat yourself to a great meal, this is a great place to make that happen.
