Bye, Bye, Bonneville
The above picture was taken today. That is my friend Gabe in what is the last picture taken with my Bonneville. The transmission went out on it this week and so it is headed to the scrap heap. My friend took me to clear the rest of my stuff out and to sell it to the salvage yard for pennies on the dollar.
My grandfather was a big Bonneville man A little irony since Bonneville (the person) is in my family tree via marriage if I recall correctly. I use to love riding in my grandfather's Bonneville. That was back when Bonneville's were big.
This car did alright. My brother bought it for $1000 in 2011 with only about 65k miles on it. I traded with him for it about 3 years ago. It had about 225k miles on it when it died. A pretty good investment so no real complaints It was a good car and I am actually still a little sad to see GM quit making the Pontiac brand. It was one of their best models.
Well, bye, bye, Bonneville.
